A Practical Fire Safety Training Exercise to Boost Emergency Response Capabilities

HANGZHOU, China – As part of its commitment to the "Work Safety Month" initiative, TONNY (HANGZHOU TONNY ELECTRIC&TOOLS CO.,LTD.) recently organized a full-scale, hands-on fire emergency drill at its manufacturing facility. The exercise aimed to enhance employee awareness, refine on-site emergency response procedures, and reinforce the company's dedication to protecting its workforce and production environment.

The drill adopted a "theory + practice" training model tailored to the industrial production setting.

Prior to the hands-on exercise, safety officers delivered a detailed briefing covering key topics: fire hazard identification in workshop and testing areas, initial fire suppression methods, proper use of fire fighting equipment, and essential personnel evacuation techniques.

Real-world case studies were also shared to help employees understand potential risks and best practices for preventing and responding to fire incidents.

During the practical phase, a realistic factory fire scenario was simulated. As soon as the alarm was triggered, the on-site emergency response plan was activated immediately:

Evacuation teams guided all personnel along designated routes to the safe assembly zone in an orderly manner, eliminating crowding and stampede risks.

Fire suppression teams worked in close coordination, using dry powder fire extinguishers and fire hoses to control and extinguish the simulated fire efficiently, following standard operational procedures.

Led by experienced instructors, employees took turns practicing fire extinguisher use, learning how to aim at the base of flames and follow the PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) method correctly. The entire drill was carried out in a controlled environment, allowing every participant to build confidence and muscle memory for emergency situations.

"This drill is more than a routine exercise – it is a critical investment in our team's safety and our company's long-term stability," said a TONNY safety officer. "By combining classroom learning with live fire practice, we ensure that every employee knows what to do, how to do it, and can act quickly if an emergency occurs."

Through the comprehensive drill, TONNY successfully tested and improved its emergency response plan, enhanced cross-departmental collaboration, and raised overall fire safety awareness across the organization. Moving forward, the company will continue to conduct regular safety training and emergency drills, with ongoing inspections of key risk areas, to build a robust safety culture and maintain stable, secure production operations.
